'Seasons Cease To Change'
Text and Image Assignment
Mixed Media - Digital Print on Cotton with Embroidery

This is a piece that I have made about the complexing situations i have been going through in the past few months. Beyond deja-vu, these situations are uncanny repetitions of autumns passed. Both ideas for image and text came to me during the pinnacle of the strangest moments, and from there my piece grew. The main beige phrase is by me, a drunken sentence which was to start a poem - I fell asleep before I could actually write my thoughts down, so instead decided to honour the quote by materializing it. The silver text is an afterthought, to help tie the piece together (both grammatically and conceptually). I created a handmade object that was both reflective and meditative - the embroidering took time and helped me think through my art and my issues. I am really excited to be working in a variety of mediums and really want to experiment with this more and more. (My inspirations were the small fabric / personal works of Tracy Emin, text and image & conceptually Lindsay Bottos, and shooting style of Mark Peckmezian.)
(I apologize for the images of the piece - they don’t do it justice at all!)
